Barnwood
Bowling Club
About Us / Planning a Tour?
The fact that Barnwood Bowling Club entertains several touring sides each season reflects the Club's hospitality and the standard of its green which visitors have described as "the best in Gloucestershire". The green is used for Middleton Cup matches and other County games and has pleasant surrounds which include flower beds and patio areas with tables and seating.

The club has ample off-road parking for cars and coaches and Gloucester itself is a good central location for touring the local area and is in easy reach of many bowling clubs which cater for tourists. Non bowling members of touring parties can visit the shops in the City Centre with its pedestrianised areas or the retail outlet at Gloucester Quays while their other halves enjoy their game of bowls!

If shopping is not to your liking there are visits to the city's restaurants, Folk Museum, City Museum and Art Gallery, the Beatrix Potter's Tailor of Gloucester Official Museum and Shop, the historic Docks with its tall ships and the National Waterways Musem or Gloucester Cathedral as a pleasant way to spend time in the City either as a day out or as a touring centre for Bowling Clubs or other tourist attractions in the Cotswolds.

You can find our Club in Barnwood Road opposite Grove Crescent (see google map and our own photos/maps/directions - but don't rely on driving instructions to GL4 3HD given by Google or Bing!) If you are planning a bowls tour in the area then please use the maps to find a hotel, other bowls clubs and places to visit.
We would be pleased to see you and can assure you of a warm and friendly welcome.
