Opening of the Green

Monday 14th April at 6.30pm Barnwood hardy bowlers turned out to official open there green. There were 36 players and a number of others came to watch the proceedings. It was a dry evening but still very cold the Chairman John Jones took charge of the evening and soon had us organised he  thanked all for attending before calling on the President Gerald Boots to open the green by bowling the first wood.

This was followed by the Ladies Captain Elaine Hopkin and Men's Captain Keith Hardwidge also bowling a wood . A game of Two Wood Triples of 10 ends was played and all who took part enjoyed to game saying the green bowled very well for the start of the season and all looked well for the rest of the year. Once the game was over it was back into the clubhouse for a little warmer and a chat about the coming season
